Are you currently open?
We are not currently open due to a necessary rehabilitation of our 1912 schoolhouse. Feel free to explore our grounds which are always open to the public. Our events and programming are also continuing as normal, information about what we have coming up can be found here.

How can I get involved?
There are many ways you can get involved here at FMM! We are always looking for volunteers to help us with education, collections, gardening, and more. Fill out our digital interest form and we will get in contact with you about how to get started. If you are interested in supporting our mission through financial means you can become a member or you can donate. We are extremely grateful for any support that you provide, it truly makes a difference!

Can I donate an object to the museum?
Yes, however due to space and resource limitations we are unable to accept any items into our collection that do not pertain directly to Florida maritime heritage. Because we hold these items in the public trust, we take our stewardship responsibilities very seriously and do not accept items if we are unable to care for them properly. What events/programming do you have coming up?

What Folk School classes do you have coming up?
We host Folk School classes between October and April. You can see what classes are available and purchase tickets here.

Can I host a traveling exhibition or lecture for my organization?
Yes! We have a variety of programs, lectures, and traveling exhibitions that we can provide for your organization. Fill out this form to get started, we will be in contact with you shortly.

Can I complete community service hours here?
Yes! If you would like more information please email or call us at (941) 708-6120. We have ongoing outdoor projects you can assist us with.

What is there to do in Cortez?
