June 11, 2026 (9AM - 12PM) @ Manatee County Agricultural Museum
FMM will be joining with the Manatee County Agricultural Museum on June 11th from 9am-noon for FREE family programming. This drop-in programming day is designed for families with pre-K to elementary aged children to have fun and learn together. Children cannot be left unattended. No reservations are required, but entry will be limited at the door once capacity is met—first come, first served! Learn more here.

Storytime at Palmetto Historical Park
June 18, 2026 (9AM - 12PM) @ Palmetto Historical Park
Join us at Palmetto Historical Park on Thursday, June 18th from 9AM-12PM for storytime and a craft. We will read the book, “The Sea Knows” at 9:30am, 10:30am, and 11:30am. To pair with the story, we will also have the materials to make your own jellyfish. No registration is required, craft materials are first come, first served.

āāFlorida in the American Revolution for Teens
July 17, 2026 (3PM - 4PM) @ Braden River Library
Join the us to explore Florida’s connection to the American Revolution to celebrate America 250! We will do a short presentation on Florida's roll in the American Revolution, and then you will get hands on experience analyzing artifacts.

āMusic on the Porch
2nd & 4th Saturdays (2PM - 4PM)
FMM has partnered with the Cortez Cultural Center to host this FREE music event on Museum grounds. Bring an instrument to play along or just enjoy the jam session from our picnic tables from 2 pm until 4 pm on the second and fourth Saturday of each month.
*Music on the Porch is being held in the Cortez Cultural Center for the summer. You are welcome to park on our grounds and walk over, our restrooms will be open as well. We will update everyone when it returns to our porch! The address for the Cortez Cultural Center is 11655 Cortez Rd W, Cortez, FL 34215.

Soar in 4 at the Bishop Museum
First Wednesday of every month (5:30PM - 7PM)
Soar in 4 is a FREE literacy event open to all Manatee County students and their families held at the Bishop Museum of Science and Nature. FMM hosts a booth that hands out take-home activities to help families facilitate hands-on learning at home.

Christmas in Cortez is a free, family-friendly holiday festival. Take this opportunity to get in the holiday spirit with free crafts, children's activities, and a visit with Santa.
