The Folk School at Florida Maritime Museum is excited to have local historian, author and Chief Historian of Historical Resources for Manatee County Clerk of Circuit Court, Cathy Slusser teach a Historical Fiction Writing workshop.

Try your hand at writing Historical Fiction in this introductory class. Learn research methods, imagining characters, creating settings, preparing dialogue and describing time periods. Participants should bring paper or a computer to write on and be ready to invent the beginning of a story set in the past. Everyone has a story, are you ready to tell yours?
