Our mission is to collect, preserve and share traditional knowledge, cultural artifacts and personal stories specific to Florida’s fishing and maritime heritage.


Volunteers at the Florida Maritime Museum play a crucial role in keeping the museum running ship shape. Come join our voyage of guiding visitors through Florida’s fishing and maritime history. The Florida Maritime Museum has a variety of volunteer opportunities including, but not limited to:

  • Docents

  • Assisting with gardening/landscaping

  • Educational Programming

  • Special events

  • Gift Shop

  • Collections
